Outside of Opera . . . 

Outside the world of opera, Schmura is a passionate recitalist, foodie, and volunteer. She has worked for the Episcopal Church for nine years as a section leader at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Rochester, NY and as a Choral Scholar at Trinity Cathedral, Pittsburgh. In 2017, Erin was Soprano II in Smithfield United Church of Christ's House Trio. Erin has sung with the Chancel Choir at Shadyside Presbyterian Church for several seasons.

Erin is a member of the professional chamber ensemble,

The Pittsburgh Camerata under the direction of Mark Anderson, which specializes in Renaissance/Baroque and 20th and 21st century music.

When not making music, Erin enjoys pouring over Walt Whitman poetry and hiking with her pup, Lyra.
